Book first, then take the CA-240

Visits are guided, timed and capped. This site does not sell tickets. Cuevas Prehistóricas de Cantabria does.

By car

From the N-623 at Revilla de Camargo take the CA-240 towards Puente Arce. At Escobedo follow signs to El Churi. Postcode 39609. The last stretch down to the visitor centre is narrow and not suitable for coaches.

On the day

Arrive 20–30 minutes early and check in at the ticket desk. Groups are about 17 people in low season and 20 the rest of the year. The tour lasts around 45 minutes.

Seasons (check before you travel)

Cuevas Prehistóricas de Cantabria usually organises the year in three seasons. Mondays are closed. Also closed on 1 and 6 January and 24, 25 and 31 December.

  • Low season (21 October–28 February): Tuesday–Friday and Sunday 9:30–15:30; Saturday 9:30–16:30; max. 17 people per tour.
  • Mid season (1 March–14 June and 16 September–20 October): Tuesday–Saturday 9:30–13:30 and 14:30–18:30; Sunday 9:30–14:30; max. 20.
  • High season (15 June–15 September): Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–14:00 and 15:00–19:00; Sunday 10:00–15:00; max. 20.

Fares published by the official service

Standard about €15 (age 13+). Reduced about €7.50 (ages 4–12, large families, over 65, students, unemployed, 65% disability). Groups of 11+ about €7.50. Under 4 free. Treat these figures as a guide.
